A flock of hornbill birds was recently captured on drone footage in Chungtia Village area, Mokokchung district, as they were seen soaring gracefully above the green valley before gliding toward the paddy fields below. The birds appeared to be wreathed hornbills.
The footage was taken by a local resident, who said the moment was completely unexpected. “I was just flying the drone to record the scenery when suddenly the hornbills appeared in the frame,” he shared. “It was such a rare and beautiful sight. I never thought I’d see them here.”
The sighting has sparked conversations within the community about the need to protect the species, even if their fleeting visit may have already ended.
