In one of the many instances where travelers undergo tremendous hardship due to poor road infrastructure, mini truck driver P Hatho and his companions took four days to reach Thonoknyu from Tuensang via Shamator due to deplorable road conditions. Normally, according to reports, this journey of about 40 km takes just “half a day.”
Hatho’s 4×4 mini truck was carrying essential commodities for a grocery store in Thonoknyu. Along the way, they had to unload and reload the goods five times to cope with the challenges posed by the poor road conditions.
Setting off from Tuensang on Wednesday, the group finally reached Thonoknyu on Saturday evening. This incident highlights the pressing need for road improvements to ensure the safe and timely transportation of essential supplies.
