The National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) External Assessment of HWC Mopungchuket, Mokokchung, was conducted on the April 5, 2025.


Rongsenlila, CHO of HWC Mopungchuket, formally opened the NQAS external assessment by welcoming the two-member team of empanelled External Assessors — Bikash Ranjan Dutta, District Consultant (Quality Assurance), Assam, and Dr Vibhor Kumar, Lead – Public Health, Collective Good Foundation, Delhi — along with Dr Imnanoktsung Longchar, District Quality Manager (DQM), Kohima, who facilitated the assessment on behalf of the Department. Staff from HWC Mopungchuket, the Village Health Committee (VHC), community members, and officials from the office of the Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung, were also in attendance.

She provided an overview of HWC Mopungchuket through a PowerPoint presentation, highlighting that the centre was established in 1967 and upgraded to a Health and Wellness Centre in 2019, catering to a population of 971. She further outlined its functioning, infrastructural upgrades, achievements, organogram, vision, and mission.

She thanked the community, led by the Village Health Committee, for their cooperation and contribution towards the HWC, and urged their continued support for quality healthcare services.
Dr Vibhor Kumar lauded the participation and contribution of the Village Health Committee and the community in maintaining the Health and Wellness Centre. He also made special mention of the efforts of the ASHAs, whom he termed the “backbone of the health system.”

The NQAS Certification Program is the highest national quality certification for public health facilities. Launched in 2013, it aims to improve the quality of healthcare services. The certification is awarded based on the fulfillment of national quality assurance standard criteria accredited by the International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua).
