The Impur Christian Hospital (ICH) ANM School of Nursing organized a one-day seminar on “Primary Prevention” of substance use on April 21 with Limasangwa, Coordinator of Media & Social Concern, ABAM, as the resource person.

The session addressed the growing concern over the allure of worldly pleasures, particularly among youth, and the widespread impact of substance use. It emphasized that, as a responsible medical community, abstaining from intoxicants is not merely a personal choice but a critical responsibility for ensuring the health and well-being of patients. Despite the known health hazards, many individuals continue to fall prey to substance abuse and are now seeking ways to recover.

Recognizing the urgent need for early intervention, the seminar sought to confront both the health risks and spiritual consequences of substance use. It aimed to inspire students to lead lives rooted in purpose and integrity—beyond the fleeting appeal of worldly indulgences—while promoting holistic well-being.

A total of 80 students participated in the programme.
