Kohima, 27 May (MTNews): The Kohima District Board of the International Human Rights Council (IHRC) held a successful meeting between its team and the Superintendent of Police (SP), Kohima District. The IHRC delegation, led by its President and General Secretaries, engaged in a constructive dialogue focused on the imperative of protecting the public from human rights violations, IHRC said in a press statement.
During the meeting, various strategies and measures to enhance the protection of human rights within the district were discussed. Both parties emphasized the importance of collaboration and proactive measures to ensure the safety and dignity of all individuals in Kohima.
“We are also honored to share that the Kohima District SP congratulated the newly appointed members of the Kohima District Board IHRC team on their appointments. This gesture of support is a testament to the shared commitment between law enforcement and human rights organizations to foster a community where human rights are respected and upheld,” the release said.
The Kohima District Board IHRC is committed to continuing its efforts to work closely with local authorities and communities to promote and protect human rights, it also said. “We look forward to future collaborations that will further strengthen our shared mission,” it added.
