The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a wet spell for Northeast India, with fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall expected over the next seven days. The region will also experience thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph.

According to the IMD’s latest bulletin, isolated heavy rainfall is likely to lash Assam and Meghalaya from May 21 to 27. Similar heavy showers are predicted over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura between May 21 and 25, while Arunachal Pradesh is expected to receive isolated heavy rainfall from May 23 to 25.
