Specialist transferred without replacement; Apex students’ body appeals
Mokokchung, 16 September (MTNews): The apex Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) has requested the Principal Director of the Department of Health and Family Welfare (DoFHW), Government of Nagaland to take immediate action by deploying a medical surgeon and specialist to the Dr Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), Mokokchung.
AKM has highlighted that, since the transfer of the medical surgeon and a specialist in 2022 without sending their replacements, the hospital has faced a severe staffing shortage, resulting in significant challenges for patients in need of medical attention.
The AKM has emphasized that the absence of a medical surgeon and specialist has forced patients, especially those requiring specialized treatment and surgeries, to seek medical assistance elsewhere, often incurring substantial financial and emotional burdens.
As a result, AKM has earnestly requested the Principal Director of DoFHW to address this critical issue and alleviate the suffering faced by the local community.
