Impur, 19 July (MTNews): In a collaborative effort with ABAM Church & Mission Ministry, Impur Christian Hospital (ICH) organized a Palliative Care Sensitization cum Training program on 19 July at ICH premises. The event aimed to equip the attendees, including Associate Pastors, Women, and Community Health Officers from Health Wellness Centres in Mokokchung with knowledge and understanding of palliative care and its significance in providing proper care to the ill in their communities.
The training program witnessed the participation of 42 individuals. The program was organized to help the Church and communities understand the needs and importance of palliative care so that the churches can access the ill people in their localities and do all possible necessities to avail proper care. This is the second training given by ICH in collaboration with ABAM.
The event was held with Dr Obangjungla from Dimapur as the resource person. Citing the needs of the care, she said that community and the church should co-exist in handling the ill people so that both physical and spiritual care can be provided.
“As ICH continues to avail Palliative Care, we pray for many to come and get the best care and be relieved,” Rev Dr. Mar Pongener, Executive Secretary, ABAM stated.
