Mokokchung, February 13 (MTNews): There are 86 police stations in Nagaland and 36 of them do not have a telephone connection, while 18 do not have a wireless device or mobile. The statistics were revealed in the department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee report on Home Affairs on ‘Police-Training, Modernization and Reforms’, which was tabled in the Parliament on Thursday. The figures furnished by the Bureau of Police Research and Development are dated January 1, 2020. According to the report, all 86 police stations in Nagaland have vehicles.
The Committee has recommended that the MHA may advise such states to immediately equip their police stations with adequate vehicles and communication devices, else it may lead to “disincentivization of modernization grants from the Centre.”
