Mokokchung, 11 April (MTNews): Independent candidate for the ensuing Nagaland Lok Sabha election Hayithung Bill Lotha has extended his support to the Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO) and its call for Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT), asserting that the power of over four lakh votes from the region could be a game-changer.

With India gearing up for its mammoth electoral exercise, Lotha emphasized the significance of every vote in shaping the nation’s future and called for a united effort to address the longstanding grievances of Eastern Nagaland. Lotha criticized the government’s failure to address the demands of Eastern Nagaland, citing years of incompetence and indifference.

Lotha outlined his priorities if elected as an MP, focusing on fulfilling the aspirations of Eastern Nagaland through the establishment of FNT and ensuring political, financial, and administrative autonomy. He advocated for the appointment of a Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) and emphasized the need for direct Central Government funding for FNT under the supervision of the Government of India.

In a rallying cry to the ENPO, Lotha urged the organization to reconsider its decision to abstain from the elections and throw its support behind candidates committed to the cause of Eastern Nagaland. He positioned himself as a candidate free from political influence, driven solely by the pursuit of equality and justice for all.

As the electoral process unfolds, Lotha sees the participation of the ENPO as a historic moment to assert the collective power and worth of the Eastern Nagas. With a personal connection to the region through his wife, Lotha expressed gratitude and pledged to stand by the Eastern Nagas in their quest for empowerment and recognition.
