Kohima, 25 November (MTNews): The Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland is set to actively participate in the upcoming Hornbill Festival 2023. The society’s primary goal is to raise awareness about the Red Cross, initiate a membership drive, and showcase its diverse activities within the state and beyond, Akhale V Khamo, General Secretary IRCSN, shared with this newspaper.

In a bid to extend essential services to the public, Khamo said the Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland will provide free ambulance services from December 1 to 10. This service will be available from Kisama to any hospital in Kohima.

As part of its engagement, the Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland will offer on-the-spot first aid training during the festival. Additionally, there will be a strong emphasis on promoting awareness about blood donation, accompanied by a blood donation drive to encourage festival-goers to contribute to this life-saving cause.
