An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Dimapur was temporarily halted on Sunday after a passenger’s power bank caught fire on board, officials said. The incident occurred while the aircraft was taxiing at Indira Gandhi International Airport, but the cabin crew quickly extinguished the fire, ensuring the safety of all passengers and crew.

IndiGo confirmed that flight 6E 2107, operating from Delhi to Dimapur on October 19, returned to the bay due to a minor fire caused by a passenger’s personal electronic device stored in the seat-back pocket. “No injuries were reported, and all passengers and crew remained safe,” the airline said.

Sources added that the crew managed the situation efficiently, following standard operating procedures, and the incident was controlled within seconds, preventing any escalation. The total number of passengers on board has not been disclosed.
