Mokokchung, 22 April (MTNews): Ao Riju (Ao Academy) and Language Translation Centre, Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung will be organizing a one-day International Conference on Language, Literature, and Oral Tradition of the Ao-Nagas. Sponsored by Kohima Aor Pensioner Telungjem, the event aims to delve into the rich cultural heritage of the Ao-Nagas, one of the major Naga ethnic groups. It will be held on 31 July at Fazl Ali College.

The conference will serve as a platform for scholars, researchers, educators, and practitioners to explore the intricate interplay between language, literature, and oral tradition within the Ao-Naga community. It will also highlight the significance of language, literature, and oral tradition in preserving and transmitting cultural heritage across generations, particularly in the face of globalization and cultural homogenization.

This seminar is designed for scholars, researchers, educators, students, and practitioners interested in the intersections of Ao language, literature, and oral tradition. It welcomes participants from diverse academic backgrounds and cultural contexts, fostering a collaborative environment for knowledge exchange and intellectual exploration.

Participants are invited to submit abstracts by 27 June 2024, and full papers by 26 July 2024. Presentations and paper submissions by participants can be done in both Ao Chungli and English languages.

The conference will be in hybrid mode. It will consist keynote speech from scholars of international repute, panel discussions, and research paper presentation by scholars in linguistics, literature, and folklore and cultural studies. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary dialogue, share research findings, and exchange ideas on the complex interplay of language, literature, and oral tradition.

The organizer informed that the presentation and paper submission by the participants can be done in both Ao-Chungli and English language, with the abstract of about two hundred words and five keywords may be submitted before 27 June, 2024 at rijultc@gmail.com, adding that the acceptance will be intimated by 4 July, 2024 and full paper submission to be done by 26 July, 2024.
