Jalukie, 3 March (MTNews): Along with the rest of the country, the IPPI launching program was held at Jalukie Town Local Baptist Church, Peren, on 3 March 2024. Rajesh Monsang, PO, UNDP, inaugurated and administered the first Polio drop, as per a press release from the CMO Office, Peren.

Dr. Supongmenla Walling, DPO (RCH & UIP) Peren, gave the keynote address. She stated that although India is polio-free, there still exists polio in a few countries and it could return. Therefore, to ensure the child’s complete protection, the polio vaccine is given every time to maintain India’s victory over polio. She emphasized the importance of vaccination and also stressed that to maintain a healthy living standard, individuals need to start from themselves. She motivated parents and health workers to be ambassadors in creating awareness about the various activities carried out by the medical department.

Ndazeung Hingleu, Children Coordinator, JTLBC, read from the Bible and invoked God’s blessings.

Peren district’s total target for children under 0-5 years is 6975, and the total number of booths is 155.
