The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Niuland Branch was launched at the DC’s Conference Hall, Niuland, on March 27, 2025.

Deputy Commissioner & President of the District Red Cross Society, Niuland, Sara S. Jamir, in her address, stated that the launching program, which was initially supposed to be held in 2023, was delayed due to various challenges. She thanked all the team members of IRCS for making it possible to launch the IRCS in the district.

Recalling the tremendous work of the IRCS team during the massive Dimapur flood crisis in 2017, the DC said that Niuland, being the newest district, would look forward to every possible assistance from the IRCS in case of any natural calamities or disasters. She urged all members of the district IRCS to be responsible and prepared for any unforeseen disasters.

The DC also constituted an 11-member IRCS team for Niuland District.

Akhale V Khamo, General Secretary of IRCSN, while delivering her speech as the special guest, acknowledged the DC and concerned officers for making the launching program a success. She highlighted the emergence and functions of the IRCS and elaborated on its seven unique fundamental principles, as well as the activities of the Red Cross Society in Nagaland.
