The JDU Nagaland, through a press release issued by its Information and Publicity Wing, stated that the “callousness” of the major parties of the PDA was the primary reason for the failure of the NDPP candidate.

Acknowledging that the JDU Nagaland supported the candidature of the People’s Democratic Alliance’s Dr Chumben Murry wholeheartedly, the party claimed that the “superiority complex” was so pronounced that not even a single all-party presidential meeting was convened during the entire campaign.

“The whole planned campaign strategy was closely guarded by a few individuals, keeping the other political parties in the dark. This also indicates that there could be double game players within the major parties,” the JDU Nagaland alleged.

Furthermore, it added that the spirit of the campaign from the very beginning was lackadaisical, eventually protruding an ugly head of failure.

“No doubt all the legislators of the parties in the opposition-less government need to own moral responsibility, but those at the highest helm of affairs must own greater responsibility and accept the harsh reality that the majority of the Naga public is not in favor of the present dispensation,” it added.

The Nagaland unit of the JDU conveyed its hearty congratulations to Supongmeren Jamir for winning the lone Nagaland Parliamentary seat in 2024.
