Jubilee Memorial College (JMC), Mokokchung hosted its much-anticipated 1st Annual College Carnival from November 7-8, 2024, under the captivating theme of “Winter Stellar.” The two-day celebration offered students and visitors a vibrant display of cultural pride, community spirit, and a festive atmosphere filled with food, games, and entertainment.

November 7 – Cultural Day: Harmony in Tradition
The first day, celebrated as “Cultural Day,” was dedicated to showcasing traditional values and honoring cultural heritage under the sub-theme “Harmony in Tradition.” The day was marked by performances that emphasized unity in diversity, with students presenting a variety of traditional games, music, and art forms reflecting the region’s rich cultural tapestry.

The event was graced by the presence of Limasunep, Vice Principal at NI Jamir Government Higher Secondary School, who delivered an inspiring exhortation. In his address, Limasunep encouraged students to embrace their heritage while pursuing modern aspirations, reminding them of the importance of cultural harmony in today’s world.

November 8 – Carnival Day
The excitement continued on November 8 with “Carnival Day,” a day of fun and camaraderie as departments across the college opened food and game stalls. The event provided an opportunity for students to showcase their culinary skills and entrepreneurial talents, offering an array of delicious treats and creative games. The atmosphere was lively, with students and visitors enjoying friendly competition at the stalls, engaging in various games, and relishing the festive flavors of the season.

The carnival concluded with a grand buffet, which brought together all participants, students, faculty, and guests. The buffet, featuring a diverse selection of dishes, celebrated the communal spirit of the college, closing the event on a memorable note.
