The draw for the Dr BC Roy Trophy 2024-25, encompassing Tier 1 and Tier 2 of both the Junior Boys’ and Junior Girls’ National Football Championships, was conducted on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the Football House. The Tier 1 matches for the Dr BC Roy Trophy will take place in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh, from July 27 to August 12, while Tier 2 will be hosted in Nagaon, Assam, from July 28 to August 11.

The Junior National Football Championship, also known as the BC Roy Trophy, caters to players under 15 years old and marks a significant event in Indian football. Starting from the 2023-24 season, it transitioned from an under-19 to an under-15 tournament.

According to the AIFF media team, the BC Roy Trophy Tier 1 will feature 16 teams divided into four groups, with group winners advancing to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, Tier 2 will include 19 teams divided into four groups, with group winners also progressing to the semi-finals.

In the previous season, Uttar Pradesh claimed the Tier 1 title in Bhubaneswar, while Delhi emerged victorious in Tier 2 in Jabalpur. In the Junior Girls’ National Football Championship, Manipur secured the Tier 1 title in Bhubaneswar, with Goa triumphing in Tier 2 in Jaipur.

For the upcoming Junior Boys’ National Football Championship Tier 2 in Nagaon, Assam, Nagaland has been placed in Group A alongside Andaman & Nicobar, Manipur, Lakshadweep, and Haryana.

Nagaland Football Association announces selection trial

Secretary of the Nagaland Football Association, Benei M Lamthiu, has announced that the Nagaland Football Association will organize selection trials for Junior Boys for the State Team participating in the Junior National Football Championship 2024-2025.

The trials are scheduled for July 5 and 6, 2024, at IG Stadium, Kohima. Participants are required to report at 1:00 pm. Eligible participants must have a Date of Birth between January 1, 2009, and December 31, 2010.

Mandatory documents required from participants include Birth Certificate & Photocopy, and Aadhaar card (Original & one Photocopy).
