Former Nagaland Finance Minister K Therie has called upon the Chief Minister of Nagaland to “make his position known” on the Manipur issue, emphasizing that “Nagaland cannot be helpless” to the ongoing crisis in its neighboring state.

Quoting religious teachings, Therie invoked the principle of “Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself,” underlining the obligation to stand in solidarity with Manipur during these troubling times.

“Manipur is our immediate neighbor. They are our brothers and sisters,” Therie said.

He expressed distress that “Manipur genocide and cruelty has crossed all limits” and shared that he was more concerned today as “GOI has abandoned Manipur.”

“Certainly, Nagaland people have the same feeling. I am sure the State Government has the same feeling. It is the responsibility of the immediate neighbor to help each other. It is time the Hon’ble Chief Minister makes position known to the people. Nagaland cannot be helpless to the situation,” he stated.

“There is nothing dirtier than what they are doing to our daughters and sisters for no crime of theirs. Words are not enough to describe the feelings of pain and anger,” he added.
