The Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Bangjum (KBBB) has unanimously resolved to uphold the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act, 1989, in both letter and spirit.

The resolution was adopted at the conclusion of the KBBB Pastors’ Conference 2026, which was held from April 18 to 20 at Lower Tiru under the theme ”The Amazing Love of God.” The conference brought together pastors and church leaders from the KBBB, which currently comprises 121 churches and 22 fellowships.

The conference further  reaffirmed  that, “ even  if the  Act is lifted  or  relaxed  in  other  parts  of  Nagaland,  KBBB  will  continue  to  strictly  adhere  to  the  commitment  made  by  KBBB  pioneers  in  1988,  viewing  it  as a  binding  moral and  spiritual  responsibility.”

The conference further noted that apex Konyak civil bodies, including the Konyak Union, Konyak Students’ Union, and Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong, are in full agreement with the decision, underscoring what it described as the “collective will of the Konyak community.”

The three-day conference concluded successfully with a range of spiritual and ministerial sessions. Four worship services were held during the event, with messages delivered by Rev Thrangmo, Rev Dr AM Poangba, Rev M Tonlong, and Manya, all centred on the conference theme.

A significant highlight of the conference was the conferral of ministry licences upon five candidates during the Sunday devotional service. The licences were awarded to Liya, Manya, Khamba, Nahphong, and Pulei.
