Advisor for Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD), Kudecho Khamo, on Friday inaugurated the new Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Office Complex at Tamlu under Longleng district in the presence of MLA of 49th Tamlu Assembly Constituency, B Bangtick Phom.

Addressing the inaugural programme, Khamo called for greater self-reliance through effective utilisation of Nagaland’s natural resources, human potential and skills. He urged government officials to discharge their duties sincerely and ensure that welfare schemes and government initiatives reach even the remotest areas.

Acknowledging the cooperation of the people of Tamlu, particularly Tamlu and Kangching villages for providing land for the project, he said development required mutual cooperation between the government and the public. He also urged landowners across the state to support developmental initiatives and cautioned against reclaiming land voluntarily donated for public purposes.

On the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA), Khamo said the arrangement would empower the region to make decisions concerning its own development. He appealed to people in the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) area to remain united and resolve differences through dialogue, mutual respect and understanding.

Deputy Commissioner of Longleng, W Manpai, described the inauguration as a significant milestone for the sub-division, expressing confidence that the new complex would improve administrative efficiency and public service delivery. He also called for responsible maintenance of government infrastructure.

Presenting the technical report, Assistant Chief Engineer Ketousielie Kenguruse said the ground-plus-one RCC complex has a built-up area of 10,216 square feet. Construction began in August 2023 and was completed in August 2026. The building accommodates the ADC office and several departmental offices, a conference hall, strong room and other facilities. Ramps, rainwater harvesting, a deep borewell and water reservoir have also been provided.

Later, Khamo and accompanying officials inspected the ongoing ADC official quarter, Border Magistrate Rest House and proposed EAC headquarters site at Yonglok. They also inspected infrastructure at Mon.
