Advisor for CAWD and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo, inaugurated the newly constructed Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Office Complex and the Higher Secondary Block of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Tening in Peren district. The inauguration programme was held at the Town Hall, Tening.


Addressing the gathering, Khamo described Tening as “a sub-division blessed with fertile soil, abundant land and scenic beauty,” adding that it has immense potential for growth. He encouraged locals to embrace hard work, honesty, and a positive mindset, urging them to “have faith and trust in God as they prepare to embrace development.”

Highlighting employment challenges, he said, “Skill development and entrepreneurship are the way forward to address unemployment in the state,” pointing out the saturation of government jobs and the importance of competitive exams like NPSC and NSSB. He urged youth to seize opportunities under the Viksit Bharat 2047 mission.

Khamo commended Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for “leading the state from the front,” ensuring peace and prioritising development in education, health, and professional training. “Nagaland’s journey towards becoming a state of excellence requires collective effort,” he said.

On education, Khamo assured that state-run schools are staffed with qualified teachers and appealed for public support while encouraging teachers to give their best.

Guest of Honour and local MLA Namri Nchang said the day marked a significant milestone for Tening. He echoed Khamo’s call to raise enrolment at GHSS Tening and urged people to take ownership of public assets. Emphasising environmental stewardship, he encouraged public leaders to promote responsible living.

Deputy Commissioner of Peren, Hiazu Meru, appreciated the Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD) for timely completion of the infrastructure and urged proactive service from officers in improving education, health, and the local economy.

Sungtiba Amer, Assistant Chief Engineer, CAWD, presented the technical report. K. Furhesie Nyuwi, ADC Tening, delivered the welcome address.
