Mokokchung, April 18 (MTNews): A Khelo India Centre for Badminton was inaugurated today at Indoor Badminton Stadium, Mokokchung by G. Kaito Aye, Minister, Agriculture and Cooperation, Nagaland.
G. Kaito Aye in his speech at the inaugural said that the government is giving its best effort to develop sports and create opportunities and platforms for athletes. He encouraged both young and old to take advantage of the Centre and to take up the responsibility of promoting sports culture and create an unbiased atmosphere for young talents to develop and achieve excellence.
Martoshi Jamir, President, Mokokchung District Badminton Association, while acknowledging the collaborations with the Youth Resources in setting up the Khelo India Centre said that this collaboration will help produce star players who will represent the state in national levels.
He also said that MDBA has a vision of producing at least one player who can represent the country in the Olympics and that the Department will render their continued support in their endeavor.
