In an unfortunate fire incident that unfolded in the wee hours of Wednesday, two houses were completely razed down while a third one was partially damaged in Khensa Village. According to eyewitnesses, the fire broke out around midnight, rapidly engulfing the two neighboring houses before spreading to a third property.
Fire and Emergency Services Mokokchung swiftly responded to the scene and brought the fire under control. The prompt response and coordinated efforts managed to prevent the flames from spreading further to nearby houses, averting a potential disaster.
Regrettably, despite their valiant efforts, two houses were reduced to charred rubble by the fire. The occupants of these homes, who were fortunately able to evacuate in time, escaped without any injuries.
One neighboring house also suffered extensive damage, with a significant portion of the kitchen ravaged by the flames. However, firefighters managed to prevent the fire from completely destroying it.
As per preliminary report, the fire officials suggested that the fire may have been caused by an electrical fault.
