Kohima, 24 July (MTNews): The five-day long All India Football Federation (AIFF) D’ License Course for Noklak district got underway at IG stadium Kohima on Monday. The course is being initiated by Khiamniungan Sports Council (KSC) under the aegis of Nagaland Football Association.
Altogether, 24 football coaches from Noklak district are taking part in the weeklong camp. N William Koso, AIFF D Coach Educator and AFC A licensed coach is the instructor for the course.
Khiamniungan Sports Council president Musho Lam said the football enthusiasts of Noklak area find difficulty in many areas due to lack of facilities and non-availability of coaches to mold them. “For that reason, the KSC has organized the course for Noklak people at IG stadium,” he said.
He hoped the standard of the game would improve drastically in the district after the coaching course and urged the aspiring coaches to learn and mold the upcoming youngsters to become professional footballers in the state.
The KSC president also acknowledged NFA for giving the opportunity to the district to hold the D license course.
The AIFF-D License Coaching Course provides the ideal introduction to football coaching at grassroots level. A D-Licence holder will be able to coach in grassroots football, college and school teams, District and Inter-city Championships, etc.
The coaching course comprises theory and practical lessons in the football pitch. After the completion, those candidates who qualify in both the theory and practical exams will be awarded the AIFF “D” Coaching Certificate.
