As part of Wildlife Week 2025, the Khrokhropfü Community Reserve Forest, in collaboration with the Phek Forest Division and the Wildlife Division of Kiphire, organised a Wildlife Week program on October 4, 2025, at the school assembly hall of GHS Kamaleah in Lephori Village. The theme for the celebration was “Human Animal Coexistence.”

K. Mhathung Tsanglao, NCS, Deputy Commissioner of Meluri, Nagaland, attended the event as the Guest of Honour. Village council chairmen from five villages, the Head GB of Kamalesh Area, administrative officers, Forest Department staff, social workers, villagers, and students participated actively.

The keynote address was delivered by Siechutho Katiry, Wildlife Warden of the Wildlife Division of Kiphire. He was followed by a speech from Enyiwekha Wezah, Divisional Forest Officer of Phek. The Guest of Honour spoke on wildlife conservation, human-animal coexistence, and sustainable eco-tourism.

Speakers highlighted the importance of community involvement in promoting coexistence between humans and wildlife. They emphasized that individual actions can help reduce human-animal conflict and stressed the urgent need to safeguard wildlife and natural habitats for future generations. The event called for collective responsibility in protecting wildlife and preserving the environment.

The program also featured competitions, including drawing, painting, photography, and a mini-marathon run for wildlife, engaging students and villagers while raising awareness about conservation. The celebration marked a significant step in fostering environmental consciousness and promoting sustainable eco-tourism practices in the region.
