In a ground-breaking achievement for the Kichutip Ward, the Urban Local Body election concluded with a record-breaking zero proxy votes, while firmly upholding the principles of “Free and Fair Elections” and “One Man, One Vote.”

The ward, which has approximately 956 registered voters, saw a significant turnout with 757 votes cast, according to the Ward Chairman, Imkongyanger.

“There will be some postal ballot cast in addition to this,” said the chairman.

He attributed this “Zero Proxy Votes” and “One man One Vote” success to the overwhelming public support and cooperation with the Ward authority and the security personnel. “This has really been possible due to public support and cooperation. The ward authority did its job as well, but the public really supported us,” he told MT.

The three candidates from Kihutip Ward under Mokokchung Municipal Council – Imkumniba, Tsukjemwati, and Sanglipong (L-R) – after the polls closed on 26 June.

MT, a witness to the electoral process, observed the fair practices implemented throughout the election. The candidates of the ward included Imkumniba from the NDPP, and independent candidates Sanglipong and Tsukjemwati.

The candidates, instead of indulging in bribery, proxy voting and other electoral malpractices resorted to working hard in convincing their voters to turn up to the polling station to cast their vote.

MT learnt that voters, whose names were in the electoral roll, in order to exercise their franchise, came even from far away cities like Bangalore and other districts.

Following the polls, representatives from all three candidates expressed satisfaction with the fairness of the proceedings.

“We hope that our Ward will be an example in the future to come,” the chairman said.

One important thing is that if you find yourself searching for a education loan you may find that you’ll want a cosigner. There are many scenarios where this is correct because you may find that you do not use a past credit ranking so the mortgage lender will require that you’ve someone cosign the loan for you. Thanks for your post.
