Mokokchung, 4 May (MTNews): In the aftermath of the fire incident in Kinunger village on Friday, the Mokokchung Police launched an investigation, and one person under suspicion was detained for questioning. A police official informed this newspaper that the suspect has been brought to Mokokchung, and interrogation will be carried out subsequently.
Kinunger village was engulfed in flames in the wee hours of 3 May 2024, leaving behind a trail of destruction. Two houses, one granary, and three scooters were razed to the ground in what police suspect to be the act of unknown miscreants. The interior of the church building was also partially damaged.
