As part of its Saturday activities, Agape Higher Secondary School Kiphire today held a talk on Cracking Competitive Exams with Vilila S. Thoanger, Assistant Research Officer, Department of Art and Culture, at the school auditorium. The session was attended by students of Classes 9 to 12.
Encouraging the students, the resource person urged them to cultivate good habits and make them a part of their character in order to achieve their goals in life.
Sharing her own experience of cracking competitive exams, she said that hard work and a “never give up” attitude are essential for success. She revealed that she had studied 10–12 hours a day for two years in preparation for competitive exams.
Vilila also mentioned that she cleared the UGC-NET exam and had the opportunity to serve as an Assistant Professor in a reputed college outside the state — a dream come true for her. However, she felt the need to give back to the Naga community, which motivated her to leave her teaching job and attempt competitive exams again, she added.
She further encouraged the students to dream big and explore every possible way to achieve their goals.
The school administrator, while welcoming and moderating the program, expressed gratitude to the resource person for taking time out of her hectic schedule and encouraged the students to learn from her experiences.
