A rockslide occurred approximately 4 kilometers short of Mimi, between Lophukhong and Mimi village in Kiphire district on 24 June 2024. According to an update received here, the Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles, stationed at Mimi, is currently engaged in clearing the debris. The troops are breaking the rock into smaller pieces to facilitate the removal process.
“As of now, about half of the obstruction has been cleared, with the remaining work expected to be completed by tomorrow. Further updates will be provided as the situation progresses,” the update added. (MTNews)
