The District Congress Committee (DCC) Kiphire has raised an urgent appeal for the immediate intervention of the President of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) regarding unauthorized appointment orders circulating under the name of the DCC Kiphire president. The orders, purportedly issued by one K Tsalimong, who claims to be the DCC President of Kiphire, have caused significant concern within the party.
The DCC Kiphire, in an official letter addressed to the NPCC President, stated, “To our utter dismay and surprise, the party has been malfunctioning over the past few months, which led the DCC Kiphire to write to your esteemed office vide letter No. DCC/KPE/RE-01/24 dated 27th Nov 2024, seeking revocation of the NPCC notification No. NPCC/Admn-13/2015 dated Kohima 19th Nov 2024, and letter No. NPCC/Admin-13/2015 dated 20th Nov 2024, regarding the suspension of DCC Kiphire and all its subordinate committees and the elected PCCs of both 59 & 60 A/C for a period of 30 days and thereby formation of new team”.
The DCC Kiphire clarified that the party “will not accept” such activities functioning under DCC Kiphire when the Party Office is constitutional held by the existing President and all the ranks and files of both DCC, PCC members and ACCs.
In their appeal to the NPCC President, the DCC Kiphire requested the nullification of the unauthorized appointments and urged strong action against the individual “misusing the office of DCC Kiphire and trying to tarnish the reputation of NPCC.” The DCC also reaffirmed its commitment to the party’s constitutional framework, stating, “The DCC Kiphire upholds the fullest cooperation towards the upliftment of the Party and shall always respect the constitution of the party to safeguard the oldest political party of India.”
The letter was signed by Likyuse Sangtam and Tsalichum S Sangtam.
