The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting convened today at the DC conference hall in Kiphire. In the DPDB chairman’s absence, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) chaired the meeting.
The meeting addressed proposals submitted by the Junior Engineer (JE) of the power department and the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) for Seyochung Town. Department representatives reported submitting requests to the state government but not yet receiving approval. The construction of road connectivity to PHED and Kiphire Town, along with access to a specific Government Middle School (GMS), was also reviewed.
Grant-in-aid for the classroom extension of El Beth High School in Kiphire was another topic of discussion. The District Education Officer (DEO) explained their efforts to fulfill necessary requirements but highlighted challenges due to limited government funding, with multiple schools vying for the same benefits.
The District Agriculture Officer and District Horticulture Officer presented progress reports on their activities through a captivating PowerPoint presentation, showcasing their achievements and ongoing initiatives.
