The Gorkha Baptist Church (GBC) Kiphire celebrated World Sunday School Day cum Graduation Day 2025 with joy and gratitude, honouring the children for their growth in faith and learning.
The programme began with a prayer by Sunday school teacher Mrs. Arang Sapkota, followed by praise and worship presented by the children. A scripture reading from Proverbs 3:5 reminded everyone to “trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding,” setting a reflective tone for the day.

The congregation sang “Showers of Blessings,” followed by an invocation prayer from Mr. Suraj Poudel. Children then read from Ephesians 6:1, emphasizing obedience and respect toward parents and elders. Performances included the songs “Bible Ka Naya Niyam” and “Rim Rim Tara Rim Rim,” bringing joy and liveliness to the event.
A skit by the younger children depicted how adults’ actions influence children’s behaviour, sending a message on the importance of setting good examples.
The graduation ceremony honoured Miss. Kusum Khadka, Mr. Suraj Poudel, and Mr. Ritsase Rai with certificates and gifts. Pastor Dr. Bhim Sapkota prayed for their spiritual growth and delivered a message on the true essence of Sunday school, recalling its humble beginnings under Robert Raikes. He shared a story illustrating that “the seeds of faith sown in childhood never fade away.”
Quoting from Colossians 3:20, Ephesians 6:1, and Proverbs 22:6, he urged parents and children to live in obedience to God’s Word. The event concluded with a benediction prayer, light refreshments, and a joyful photo session, marking a day of faith, learning, and thanksgiving.
