The Officers’ Club, Kiphire, organised a marathon under the theme “Communal Harmony” on October 8, with participants from different sections of the community taking part.
The race commenced at 5 a.m. from Delux Point and proceeded towards the 14th IR Junction/14th IR Camp. It was held in men’s, women’s and boys’ categories, with cash prizes awarded to the first, second and third-place finishers in each category. Consolation prizes were also given to 20 participants each in the men’s and women’s categories and five in the boys’ category. Nine-year-old Muwase was the youngest finisher.
The event promoted fitness, sportsmanship, unity and mutual respect, with police and traffic personnel helping ensure its smooth conduct.
