The Seyochung Village Students’ Union (SVSU) has appealed to the Principal Director of School Education to reconsider the transfer of Thripongchum Sangtam, a general teacher, citing concerns over its impact on students and the school’s academic environment.

In a letter addressed to the department, SVSU highlighted the frequent transfers of Sangtam, stating that he was posted to Government High School, Seyochung Village, from GMS Yangsekyu Village on February 28, 2024. However, before completing a year at his new post, he was again transferred to Government High School, Phisami, on February 6, 2025.

“This abrupt transfer has disrupted the academic environment of the school, as his experience and teaching skills were positively contributing to the students’ education,” the union stated. SVSU further emphasized the shortage of experienced teachers in Seyochung Village and urged the department to retain Sangtam for “the benefit of the students and the smooth functioning of the school.”

The students’ body appealed for the department’s intervention, stressing, “We sincerely request your esteemed office to reconsider this transfer and retain Thripongchum Sangtam.” The union concluded by seeking the Principal Director’s “consideration and support in this regard,” hoping for a favorable response to their request.
