Nagaland’s Tourism Minister Temjen Imna Along announced an upgrade to the Naga Heritage Village in Kisama as part of the preparations for the 25th anniversary of the Hornbill Festival, a ten-day event that attracts international tourists.

The festival grounds, according to the minister, are undergoing renovations, including the construction of a new amphitheater with a capacity for over 7,000 people.
Minister Along noted that the Hornbill Festival highlights Naga culture and traditions, promoting unity among the tribes and their heritage globally. He credited Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for the festival’s growth and acknowledged former Chief Minister SC Jamir’s contributions.
To address traffic concerns, Along said new regulations and improved coordination between traffic and home departments will be put in place. He urged the public to carpool and use public transport during the festival.
The tourism department aims to exceed last year’s attendance record and attract over 150,000 visitors this year. The festival’s appeal will also be enhanced by the involvement of a country partner for the anniversary.
