Minister Along noted that the Hornbill Festival highlights Naga culture and traditions, promoting unity among the tribes and their heritage globally. He credited Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for the festival’s growth and acknowledged former Chief Minister SC Jamir’s contributions.

To address traffic concerns, Along said new regulations and improved coordination between traffic and home departments will be put in place. He urged the public to carpool and use public transport during the festival.

The tourism department aims to exceed last year’s attendance record and attract over 150,000 visitors this year. The festival’s appeal will also be enhanced by the involvement of a country partner for the anniversary.
