The GPRN/NSCN-U has said that its former Ato Kilonser N Kitovi Zhimomi no longer commands its respect an advised him to refrain from interfering with the “operations of the people’s government.”

In a press statement issued through its MIP, the GPRN/NSCN-U said that following his expulsion from GPRN/NSCN-U on April 21, 2024, Kitovi “floated a new party with just a handful of habitual defectors.” The GPRN/NSCN-U alleged that Kitovi has since released fabricated statements aimed at tarnishing the “reputation of the people’s government.”

The GPRN/NSCN (U) reiterated its commitment to conducting extensive discussions among all members before making decisions on any matters. It dismissed Kitovi’s claims that the Unification government is led by “five from the Army Wing and eight from the Civil Wing” as baseless fabrications stemming from his “deranged mind.”

Furthermore, the GPRN/NSCN clarified that among the 170 members who reportedly joined Kitovi-led GPRN/NSCN, only Kilonser Honizhe Chishi, described as an elderly and frail man, was from the Unification Government who defected some 45 days prior.

The remaining individuals were publics who were directly promoted to the post of Kilonsers and Tatars after being enticed, lured and seduced by high positions and ranks, it said.

The GPRN/NSCN-U advised Kitovi and suggested that he should focus on his own “precarious government,” which they claimed could fall apart at any moment. It further said that if Kitovi’s government survives, he must learn that “Leadership is not about advancing yourself but it is about advancing your people.”

The GPRN/NSCN-U maintained that it is a mandated government of the Naga people. “With the active support and participation of Naga Civil Societies and Churches, like minded national workers from NSCN (IM) and  NSCN (K) came together in 2007 in response to the call and desire of the Naga people, resulting in the formation of GPRN/NSCN, also known as the Unification government,” it stated.
