The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has expressed its deep appreciation to the Kohima Police for their swift and effective response in solving the recent theft case, reaffirming public trust in law enforcement and calling for transparency amid insinuations regarding the incident.
In a statement issued by its Media Cell, KMC praised the professionalism, coordination, and commitment demonstrated by the police force in the prompt apprehension of the accused. The Council specifically acknowledged the efforts of: SP Kohima, Teisovise Metha, IPS; Addl SP, K Soriso, NPS, Team Leader, Special Investigation Team (SIT) and all ranks of the SIT.
“Their actions set a strong example of accountability and service to the public,” KMC stated, adding that such efforts not only safeguard the public but also reinforce the community’s faith in the integrity of the police force.
KMC also responded to a recent statement by the All Kohima Municipal Ward Council (AKMWC), which had suggested that the theft incident may have been stage-managed. Addressing this, the Municipal Council clarified that it had “no prior knowledge or involvement in the incident.”
“Theft was a genuine incident, and we welcome thorough investigations and transparency,” the statement said. It further urged all future interactions to be guided by facts and a collaborative spirit, rather than speculation.
