The Kohima College held its 58th Social Parting Programme on Thursday under the theme “Epiphany”, marking a heartfelt farewell to its outgoing students. The event, hosted in the college courtyard, celebrated transformation, self-discovery, and resilience.

Chaired by Lipavi Achumi, the programme opened with an invocation by Assistant Professor T. Shancholo Khuvung, grounding the gathering in reflection and gratitude.

In his welcome address, KCSC General Secretary Chutatu C. Thupitor described the day as one of “mixed emotions”—not just a goodbye, but a celebration of friendships and growth. The theme Epiphany, he said, reflected the many journeys of self-realization experienced by students.

Guest greetings were delivered by ANCSU General Secretary Kivinoka Sema, who encouraged students to uphold unity, dignity, and service. “Your generation has sown seeds of resilience,” he noted, urging them to rise to future challenges.

Heartfelt speeches followed. Sotilo Tep, speaking for the juniors, quoted Shakespeare: “Parting is such sweet sorrow,” while recalling the leadership of the seniors and paying tribute to the late Kethovi. Outgoing student Rülevelü Shijoh expressed gratitude for three transformative years and left juniors with words of encouragement: “Believe in yourself. Success is not final, failure is not fatal.”

The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the Annual College Magazine 2024–25 by Literary Secretary Yaliichi D. Feedhu, a showcase of student creativity and academic excellence.

The celebration continued with “College Days,” featuring vibrant performances by the Good Will Boys’ Hostel Male Voice Group and the Stepping Out Dance Crew.

Guest speaker Tarachu Fithu, Additional Director, Urban Development, delivered an inspiring message, advocating for skill-based learning and the dignity of labour. “Be an asset to society,” he urged, quoting Proverbs: “He who excels in his work shall not stand before ordinary men.”

Artist Abel Swu captured the event in a live painting session, adding an artistic layer to the occasion. Tokens of appreciation and framed class photos were presented to guests and outgoing students.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Neiphrezonuo Khana, bringing to a close a moving celebration of endings and new beginnings.
