Kohima: Governor visits Good Samaritan Senior Citizen’s Home

Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav visited the Good Samaritan Senior Citizen’s Home at Meriema, Kohima, on Wednesday and interacted with senior citizens residing at the home.

During the visit, the Governor expressed concern for the welfare and dignity of senior citizens and highlighted the importance of care, companionship and a supportive environment for the elderly. He also contributed essential provisions to the home as a gesture of support for the residents.

Good Samaritan Women Society Chairperson Neithonuo Liegise shared the brief history of the project and presented the Society’s vision and future plans for the old age home. The Governor acknowledged the Society’s aspirations and took note of its plans for further development of the facility.

The visit included a warm interaction between the Governor and the residents, who presented a special number during the programme.

Earlier, Executive Member of the Good Samaritan Women Society Juliana delivered the welcome address, followed by an invocation by Naga Club President Kuolachalie Seyie.

The visit highlighted the importance of supporting senior citizens and creating an environment that promotes their welfare, dignity and well-being.
