Kohima, 28 September (MTNews): The Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) is preparing to host the ‘Bloom Bazaar’ at ‘The Heritage,’ located in the old DC Bungalow in Kohima, the state’s capital.
The event will commence with a ceremonial launch tomorrow, led by Advisor to the Chief Minister and Chairman of IDAN, Abu Metha, followed by a formal inauguration scheduled for 30 September with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio inaugurating it. Speaking to the media in Kohima this afternoon, Metha outlined the main goal of the event: to promote the flower industry and provide support to local floriculture entrepreneurs.
Metha revealed that the Bloom Bazaar will be a recurring weekend event, running from 12 noon to 7 pm. The venue will host 45 stalls, including 15 from government departments, offering visitors various flowers, foliage, and engaging activities such as music, art, food, jewelry, fashion, and stalls for children. Metha also shared details of a registration system, with the first weekend being free and a nominal fee for subsequent visits.
Highlighting the results of studies conducted by IDAN, Metha projected that the Bloom Bazaar will generate close to 450 weekend employment and more than 300 permanent employments. The IDAN chairman further informed that the Government of Nagaland has sanctioned 40 lakh rupees for Bloom Bazaar.
