Kohima, September 23 (MTNews):  The Kohima Law College Students’ Union conducted its 43rd Freshers’ Meet with the theme “Venturing Proficiency into Legal Fraternity” with Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu former MLA & Nagaland Khadi & Village Industries Board as Guest Speaker.

 

 

Dr. Keditsu in his speech motivated the law students as “most fortunate” for he believes that this study would lead them to an “independent profession” in comparison to the “present scenario of unemployment problems in the state”.

 

“This is one profession where one has to be honest, hard working and have integrity as the profession is termed as a noble profession,” he said.

 

“Starting from you and me let us face the reality and not just expect everything from government and be practical in our deeds,” he challenged.

 

He further went on to say that Law is required in every area and that, “today our own people are exceeding in this field as we already had retired Judge of Supreme Court and Chief Justice of High Court and we have two sitting Judge of High Court”.

 

He encouraged the students to be more realistic and practical in life and added that the society look up to legal fraternity to take the society forward.

 

Earlier, Asst. Professor Kezhokhoto Savi pronounced an invocation; KLC Principal Soni Tep delivered the key note address, Lelimthong P. Yimchunger President KLCSU, delivered the presidential address.

 

Tohuka Achumi, President NLSF, addressed the gathering, followed by a speech on behalf of Freshers, and various special numbers including KLC Evangelical Union, Yongyo were also presented. Nocklei M, General Secretary KLCSU, proposed the vote of thanks, which was followed by benediction by Asst. Professor Sentitula.
