The Kohima Longmisa Senso Telongjem (KLST) celebrated its Golden Jubilee at Molu Ki, Kohima, on 22nd February 2025 under the theme ‘Senso Tsüngsü Medem.’

Lanutoshi Jamir, Additional Director of Food & Civil Supplies, who was the Guest Speaker at the program, dwelt on the theme ‘Senso Tsungsu Medem,’ describing it as ‘a teamwork, a coordinated effort of a group of people striving for a common goal.’
He recalled that Longmisa village was established in 1509, and described the period from 1509 to 1964 as the Golden Age for the village. During this time, the villagers worked hard to earn a good name for the village by building cordial relationships with neighboring villages and putting an end to enmity. He also highlighted the good coordination among the villagers, their willingness to share their resources, and the security of the village, which he attributed to the honesty of the village council during that period.
Lanutoshi Jamir pointed out that from 1964 to 2025, Longmisa Village has failed to produce qualified politicians, bureaucrats, and well-established entrepreneurs. He called upon every individual and family to reflect on this, expressing his belief that there is a lack of teamwork within the community. While lauding the celebration of KLST’s Golden Jubilee, he urged the gathering to take the initiative to transform Longmisa Village and carry it forward to new heights. He also released the Golden Jubilee Souvenir during the celebration.
TT Imdaksashi, one of the surviving founding members of the Kohima Longmisa Senso Telongjem, who spoke during the celebration, recalled that the union, founded by a handful of members in 1975, faced numerous hardships but helped one another during difficult times to foster unity and oneness. He noted that the members of KLST today are blessed with many gazetted officers and government employees in various sectors and called upon the union to praise God, have visions for the future, and build good teamwork.
Exhorting the union, the Chairman of Longmisa Village Council, Merensosang Jamir, said that instead of pointing out one’s weaknesses, we must encourage and uplift each other. He also spoke on the importance of one’s mother tongue, its values, and its identity.
Short speeches were also delivered by Moasashi Jamir, President of Longmisa Senso Telongjem, Mokokchung, and C Pangertemjen, President of Longmisa Senso Telongjem, Dimapur. The welcome address was delivered by Arentemjen, President of KLST, and the vote of thanks was given by Toshimenba.
A Jubilee song was presented by the Kohima Longmisatsur Telongjem, while Er K Wati read out the Golden Jubilee Resolution.
