Kohima, 27 September (MTNews): The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in Kohima, in collaboration with the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) and Home Guards, Civil Defence & SDRF, organized a mock earthquake drill at Model Christian College in Kohima on 27 September 2023.
The mock drill commenced with a warning siren at 11:45 am and garnered participation from various departments, including a medical team from NHK and Kezocha PHC, the Fire Department, and the SDRF team. The event featured diverse demonstrations and exhibitions on search and rescue techniques, as well as the proper usage of various types of fire extinguishers.
The exercise concluded at 2:30 pm, followed by a debriefing session led by Victor Kevilhouthie Yhome, District Project Associate at NSDMA. During this session, he provided concise feedback and expressed gratitude to all volunteers, department heads, students, and faculty members for their active involvement. In recognition of their participation, Model Christian College was honored with a commendation certificate from NSDMA.
