The Kohima Press Club has elected a new team of office bearers for the 2026 to 2029 tenure, with Vishü Rita Krocha of Morung Express set to lead as president. Vincent Belho of DDK has been elected vice president, Seyiekietuo Keretsü of Nagaland Post as general secretary, Nzanbemo Khuvung, a freelancer, as joint secretary, and Reyivolu Rhakho of Eastern Mirror as treasurer. The results were declared by the KPC Election Commission at the KPC office.

Election Commissioner Chizokho Vero informed that five nominations were received through Google Form for the various posts and added that “after the conduct of scrutiny of the nomination papers, the Election Commission found all the documents valid.” He further stated, “Since there was no opponent against each post, all the five candidates elected unopposed.” The Election Commission also included Atou Liezietsu and Wapangsungla Longkumer as members.

In her address, president-elect Vishü Rita Krocha thanked the members for their trust and acknowledged the contributions of outgoing president Alice Yhoshü. She said the present success of the Kohima Press Club “would not have been possible without her exceptional leadership and her unwavering commitment.” Expressing her vision, she said, “It is my firm belief that together we will continue to build upon the trailblazing legacy of our outgoing president,” while affirming that she would work in the best interest of the club.

Outgoing president Alice Yhoshü commended the Election Commission for conducting the process with professionalism and “imbibing a true spirit of a democratic election.” Reflecting on her 12-year association, she said, “the Kohima Press Club has become more than a professional organisation for me,” adding that it had become “a family, and a second home.”

She acknowledged the collective effort of members, stating, “Together, we celebrated victories, learned from setbacks, and, most importantly, grown as a fraternity.” While noting challenges, she added, “we gave our very best and we served with utmost sincerity, commitment, and love for KPC.”

Extending her best wishes to the new team, she expressed confidence in the incoming leadership and said, “The Club is in good hands.”
