Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland, Paiwang Konyak, visited Longleng district on 21st November 2024 to inspect the ongoing construction of the new district hospital. He also interacted with the officials and construction workers at the site.

After the site inspection, a brief meeting was held at PBCA Hall, Longleng, with various Civil Society Organizations and department officials. During the meeting, the district CMO and Medical Superintendent presented an overview of the district hospital and the department.

Phom People’s Council President, Y. B. Angam, also appealed to the minister to expedite the completion of the hospital by releasing the necessary funds and to provide a blood bank at the hospital for emergencies.

The minister stated that his visits to different districts aim not only to address grievances and speed up pending works but also to create awareness about food safety, which is directly linked to good health. He encouraged the gathering to ensure that only licensed pharmacists manage pharmacies and to monitor the sale of banned drugs. He assured that the construction work would be completed on time and that a retaining wall would be erected at the medical staff quarters as soon as possible.

The minister was accompanied by Commissioner Secretary Anoop Khinchi and department officials.
