Chief Minister of Nagaland, Dr Neiphiu Rio, during a press briefing at the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat, provided details about the ambitious Konyak Heritage Village project in Mon district. This announcement came after the presentation of the 2025-2026 Budget during the sixth session of the 14th Assembly.

Dr Rio revealed that, with assistance from the North Eastern Council (NEC), the Konyak Heritage Village is being developed as a cultural landmark to preserve and showcase the rich Konyak heritage. The village will feature nine Konyak Morungs, each representing one of the nine constituencies in Mon. At the highest point of the site, a traditional Angh’s house will be constructed, serving as a museum dedicated to the unique Konyak culture.
