With the recent initiation of the concept of Natural Farming and its promotion, the Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mokokchung under the Division of Soil Conservation conducted Front Line Demonstration training on enriched composting at Molungkong, Mopungchuket on the 23rd April wherein farmers were trained on the process of compost making using farm wastes.
An update from KVK Mokokchung said that Imtilemla ACTO (Soil Conservation) stated that farmers can use the compost after 4-5 months but since the farm compost used to be of lower quality unlike other composts, the final product will be enriched using organic sources for better quality of the compost.
The FLD started with the objective of fulfilling the nutrient sources for rabi season crops/ vegetables. The FLD also targets to cover the farmers under Nutri-Sensitive Agricultural Research Innovation (NARI) program.
