The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Mokokchung, convened its Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting for 2026 on January 27 at the ADC Planning Conference Hall.

During the meeting, KVK officials presented reports on the implementation of previous recommendations and the achievements of the KVK. Experts from various KVK disciplines – Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Protection, Soil Science, and Animal Science – presented their respective Annual Progress Reports for 2025, highlighting accomplishments in training, extension activities, On-Farm Trials and Frontline Demonstrations, flagship programs, production of seeds and planting materials, soil sample testing, and other key activities.

The experts also presented the Annual Action Plan for 2026–27, prepared for the committee, focusing on key developments and future strategies for the district.

During the interactive session, farmers from various villages actively participated, sharing their grievances and field-level challenges. Experts and representatives from allied departments provided guidance, responses, and suggestions. Inputs on farmer-friendly techniques and practical farming practices were also discussed.

Lipokonen Jamir, Joint Director, SARS Yisemyong, offered additional recommendations aimed at strengthening agricultural activities in the district. The program featured active discussions and the exchange of ideas, all centered on improving agriculture at the local level.

Dr Nochetla, District Agriculture Officer, Mokokchung, and seasonal Chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee, delivered the closing remarks, stressing the importance of coordinated efforts among departments and farmers. The committee formally approved the action plan proposed by the Kendra for 2026–27.
